I got a package? Get right out of town! Really? Cool!

Maggie’s pretty sure it’s for her. She’s half right, because I know she’ll turn the box into a playground.

Have I mentioned how much I love snail mail? I really, really love mail.
And I love flowers. And I love my friend. Triple whammy goodness!

So beautiful!

Kyra and I are working on a collaborative writing project that’s been a blast. I’d forgotten how much fun it is to write with someone else.
One of the things I appreciate about Kyra is her willingness to allow that something can turn out well. It’s not optimism, as such, but an openness that things could come out ok. It makes her a joy to be around.
Thank you, Kyra!

Ah-hah! So there’s my stride.

To say that I haven’t been myself is like saying badgers are a little cranky. I don’t know who I’ve been, but it wasn’t me. Not so fond of the simulacrum tottering around wearing my face. That bitch.
I’ve gradually become numb. Muffled. I miss lying on the grass in the dark, in the rain. I miss sitting in the cold listening to snow on dry leaves. I miss walking for miles through the humidity from the river. I miss the rhythm of my feet and breath and heart and thoughts. I miss digging in the garden just to feel the sun on my head, sweat threading my back, and the strength in my body.
I miss connecting with the world. Miss feeling like the dry crisp leaves, the fluttering wishes of Fall, skimmed by dry snow, hidden like a secret. I feel time in both directions, hollowed out, dry, crisp, crumbling. Filling with whispering snow.
I kept giving away chunks of me. I’m grafting things back on, hoping they’ll take.
This whole NaNoWriMo thing is stirring up the silt. Thus all the embarassing personal confessions that keep winding up in my daily word count. Is anyone else running into this? I’ll be surprised if I’m the only one. Come on. ‘Fess up.

Oh man, the Eagle Holiday Bazaar was a blast. Now I’m completely wiped out! Time for doing a product inventory, tidying away the chaos, and SLEEP! Tomorrow I’ll catch up on emails and work. For now, a silliness break. Just what I needed.
Twinkle, twinkle, little cat,
How I wonder what you’re at!
Up upon the cat tree you climb,
Like there’s not a care in your mind.
Jingle, jingle, goes your toy,
Your simple antics bring such joy.

Soundtrack for today: The squirrel fan helping to dry the paint on my craft show display. Dry faster!

And now for something completely different from the daily word grind. It’s silly haiku time!
Oh look, a mousie.
He suspects nothing. I spring!
Roll, thump, chew, bite! Nap.
