Ten Reasons I’d Like to Live In An RV
- We would own it. It would be ours. No more renting and the uncertainty that brings.
- Less is more. Fewer possessions = more freedom.
- Feeling less tethered to one place.
- Travel. Travel. Travel.
- The promise of community.
- We could set up the awning to hang straight down, and use it and a projector to watch a movie with anyone who wants to come watch with us.
- The challenge and gadget factor of living in a smaller place.
- The opportunity to nest in a way not offered by renting.
- Don’t like the neighbors? No problem. Just move on down the road.
- A simpler life (though not necessarily easier).
Ten Things That Worry Me About The Idea
- Would Travis and I drive each other insane? (You’re breathing.)
- The uncertainty of cat adaptation.
- The learning curve on driving something that big.
- Who will happen to my pet lilac? (Yes, I worry about this.)
- Maybe we’ll hate it and be stuck until we can afford a different living situation.
- No garden.
- No backyard for the furry kiddos.
- What if it turns out to be a lemon, and we’re on the hook for all that money?
- I don’t really want to get rid of my car, but if we do this, selling it would be the most practical choice. I’m afraid to lose that mobility, both literal and figurative.
- What if one of us loves it and the other one hates it?
What’s your living situation? Do you love it? Hate it? Have you tried living in an RV, or do you currently live in one? Any advice?
