Good morning, Jayne! It’s Caturday!

Is that going to hurt? Because I already have pain in all the diodes down my left side.
What? You don’t even have any diodes. Anywhere. I mean – no. No, it’s not going to hurt.

Good. Then I'll be in my bunk.
I’m… just not going to think about that too much.
I’ve decided it’s high time we started celebrating Caturday around here. Who’s with me?

Does "Caturday" mean I have to get out of bed?
No, Maggie. Just the opposite.

Excellent.
Well, there’s one vote.
Welcome to “Work In Progress” Wednesday. As usual, it’s been a wacky week, which makes it a perfectly normal wacky week.
Luckily, Maggie is feeling much better after her little doctor visit. She’s even back to helping me get my work down. How considerate is that?

So kind of her.
This week I got a custom order for some huge cat toys. Huge. We’re talking cat toys sized for a baby lion. Check these out.

Thirty inches long, 15" around. Huge.
Between the two of them, I used a gallon of catnip, and 32oz of stuffing. I can’t wait to see what my client’s cats make of them.

Would one still refer to a Sphinx kitty as a “furkid”?
A few years ago at the local cat show, Travis and I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to interact with one. He was the most personable cat! He actually looked a lot like Oswald – all eyes and curiosity. Petting him was like touching the softest low-loft velvet you can imagine. He wasn’t completely hairless, like I’d thought he would be. To be honest, I’d a little worried that it would feel like petting a human baby. (Eep!) The skin/fur reminded me of Italian Greyhound fur. Very cool!
I have to say (no, I really have to), I’d like to adopt an adult one day. I mean, look at that face.
Do you have a Sphinx? What do you love about them? What drives you straight up the wall? I’d love to see a pic, if you have any you’d like to share.
If you want to see some in person, the Cat Show in Boise will be March 17 & 18th, this year.
I proudly present the world’s quickest DIY litter scoop holder. Well, maybe not the world’s quickest, but still pretty darn quick. I included gratuitous photos.
Materials:
Empty carton (distilled water, milk, whatever so long as it hasn’t held cleaning chemicals)
Scissors or box knife
Sharpie (not strictly necessary, but handy)
Optional:
Duct tape (the old reliable)
1. Rinse out the carton really well. Trust me, you do not want the smell of sour milk wafting through the house if you’re using a milk carton for this.

2. Sharpie on the outline you’d like to cut out. Or just start cutting. It’s not an exact science. The size of the part you remove will vary depending on the size of your scoop.

3. Cut along the marked area. I left the handle and lid on. It should be handy for picking up the scoop holder when it’s time to dispose of it.

4. Optional part – if you’re worried about the sharp edges of the plastic, you could put a little duct tape on them.
5. Voila.

Super easy, right? Martha Stewart might not approve, but seriously, it’s to hold a litter scoop. It doesn’t need to be expensive or particularly pretty.
If you make one for yourself or have a different way of making one, please let me know. I love seeing people be creative.
